James Allan
Group Leader at Empa
Technology and data, play a key role in the energy transition. ENERGENIUS provides a unique opportunity to test and refine advanced technologies by considering the user’s needs. At the Urban Energy Systems Lab at Empa, we are developing digital twins, AI-driven energy analytics, and interoperable data frameworks to test within ENERGENIUS. We are also providing our NEST demonstrator as a Leader Pilot. Through this collaboration, we gain valuable insights into how digitalisation can bridge the gap between energy performance data and actionable strategies to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. ENERGENIUS also provides a valuable opportunity to collaborate in the European research community, fostering new connections and advancing the transition toward adaptive, human-centred energy systems.
